Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

 
Please also note that GPs are not to vaccinate this age group until the clinically at risk have been done  This means that no 50-64 year old (other than those who are in the clinical at risk group) should be invited to attend for a vaccine until there is confirmation from the national team that there is vaccine supply for this group.

Annmarie is a registered nurse with both a prescribing qualification and RCN validated Masters level Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification.


 


Can see assess, diagnose, examine, manage, prescribe, order investigations, interrupt results and refer patients of any age with a wide variety of both acute and long term medical conditions as well as health promotion.   Works as an autonomous practitioner providing care as part of a multidisciplinary team meeting patients medical and nursing needs.


 


Has ongoing support and supervision from doctors within the practice.

Provide care to pregnant women if this involves assessment of the pregnancy.


Sign Medical Certificates (only doctors can do this by law).


Complete medical examinations for the purpose of employment or insurance.



Shalini is a registered pharmacist by background who has completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice and further completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice. She is also a prescriber.


 


She can see patients over the age of 5 for multiple undifferentiated diagnosis. Her duties include assessing and managing patients autonomously, prescribing where required, ordering investigations and making appropriate referrals.


 


She sees patients with minor ailments, acute and long term medical conditions and conducts medication reviews and advises on healthy lifestyle and diet. All doctors continue to support her with supervision within the practice.

The experienced practice nurse completed her training at the Mayday University , London. She also obtained post graduate training in Diabetes, Family Planning, Minor Injuries, Anticoagulation and Travel Health. She was rewarded The Practice Nurse of the year 2009.
